The Equal Justice Initiative
Move the Mindset is a member of the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), an organization committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.
MTM’s local EJI Committee collaborates with the national EJI campaign to commemorate the local and national victims of racist lynchings from Slavery to Jim Crow. Learn more about MTM’s work to commemorate the victims of lynching in Lafayette Parish.
MTM is also working with the local community to create a memorial site complete with markers for each of the six black victims who were lynched in Lafayette Parish.
